Frequently asked questions
How do I delete a note or journal entry?
Open the note or journal entry and use the delete option in its menu. To erase everything at once — every note, journal entry, and recording — go to Settings → Danger zone → Delete all data. This can't be undone.
How do I cancel or manage my Jot Pro subscription?
Subscriptions are billed and managed entirely by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Jot AI. You can also tap Manage Subscription inside Jot AI's Settings tab, which opens the same Apple screen.
I subscribed but Jot Pro isn't unlocked. What do I do?
Open Jot AI, go to Settings → Subscription, and tap Restore Purchases. This re-syncs your entitlement with Apple and RevenueCat without charging you again. If it still doesn't unlock, email us your Apple ID's purchase date and we'll sort it out.
Jot AI isn't transcribing my recording. How do I fix it?
Check that Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions are enabled for Jot AI in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. Also confirm the Speech language in Jot AI's Settings → Preferences matches what you're speaking, or set it to Automatic.
Does Jot AI work offline?
Recording and on-device transcription work offline. Turning a transcript into an AI-structured note needs an internet connection, since that step runs through our AI processing backend — see our Privacy Policy for exactly how that works.
Can I get my notes out of Jot AI?
Yes. Go to Settings → Data → Export All Notes to share or save every note as plain text.
Is my data backed up if I lose my phone?
Not yet — Jot AI currently stores everything on-device only, with no cloud sync. Exporting your notes periodically (above) is the best way to keep a copy elsewhere for now.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by developers. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or via Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device.
